How He Plays

Scores Around The Rim

Finishes through contact, seals deep in the paint and converts on second chances. He plays bigger than his listed size with strong hands and quick hops.

Relentless On The Glass

Chases every miss on both ends. Offensive rebounding is a real weapon for him — extra possessions follow him around the floor.

Defends The Interior

Makes life hard on opposing bigs, contests shots vertically and holds his ground in the post without fouling.

High Motor

Runs the floor rim to rim, sets hard screens and never takes a possession off. The effort is what coaches notice first.

NJ Bulldogs

David plays his club basketball with the NJ Bulldogs, competing on the Jr. EYBL Open circuit. He turned heads at Session 1 in King of Prussia, PA, producing on both ends as an interior presence for the program.

Franklin Middle School

During the school season he suits up for the Franklin Middle School team, where he anchors the frontcourt — rebounding, protecting the rim and scoring inside.

About David

David Okabekwa is a class of 2032 frontcourt prospect out of New Jersey. Standing 6'2", he already has the frame and the physicality to play through contact against older competition.

His game is built on effort. He rebounds outside his area, finishes plays around the basket and takes pride in guarding the paint. Coaches and evaluators at the Jr. EYBL Open Northeast pointed to his motor as the separator — he impacts games even on nights when shots aren't falling.

With years of development ahead of him, David is focused on adding skill to the toughness: extending his range, sharpening his footwork in the post and becoming a more vocal leader on defense.
